We're delighted to welcome Barbara Claypole, a menopause advocate, to talk about all things perimenopause and menopause. Having co-authored a book with other women who had similar experiences, it aims to share the true story and how it all feels.

Following Barbara’s own personal experience of menopause, she is determined to help other women who are in the same position.

Barbara's Bio:

Barbara Claypole is a Menopause Advocate. Her key aim is to help raise awareness of Menopause and how it can affect women in everyday life, as well as in the workplace.

Barbara previously worked in senior management positions in the public, not for profit and charity sectors for over 20 years and enjoyed coaching and mentoring people to help them reach their full potential.

Barbara has been working for the last couple of years with the charity Wellbeing of Women to help promote their Menopause Workplace Pledge which aims to raise awareness in organisations and help women stay in the workplace during their menopause.

Following Barbara's own personal experience of menopause after her total hysterectomy surgery in 2019 she was determined to help other women in the same position. She chose to share her story by co-authoring a book with other women who had similar experiences. (Surgical Menopause – Not your typical menopause). It aims to share with other women the true story of what the surgery and subsequent menopause experience is really like and how it all feels. It was the book that we wished we had read before our own surgeries and any profits have been donated to charities supporting women and mental health.

More recently Barbara has also written articles for The Telegraph and did a feature in Hello magazine.  In recent years she has been working with organisations to help raise awareness and provide knowledge to staff and managers about menopause.  Barbara also trains staff and manager to ensure their workplaces are a supportive place for those going through the menopause.

We look forward to you joining us for this very informative event.  If you think your colleague(s) or friend(s) would like to attend also, you can register them as your guest directly.
