Speaker Bios:

Neil Whiley, Sanctions Director, UK Finance: Neil is responsible for the UK Finance sanctions programme and has worked in the financial services sector for over 20 years, concentrating on sanctions compliance since 2009. Prior to joining UK Finance, Neil was the sanctions SME for Internal Audit at Deutsche Bank in London and previously worked at Lloyds and later HSBC helping both banks review and improve their international sanctions compliance.

Neil is a Fellow of both the International Compliance Association and the Society for Advanced Legal Studies and holds an MSc in International Commercial Law and Financial Crime Compliance.

Gloria Perez-Torres, Manager, Financial Services Advisory, BDO: Gloria is a financial services manager specialising in economic crime, ESG and climate related financial risk.  Gloria has a strong blend of a regulatory, risk and governance skills based on her experience in economic crime, sanctions, human rights and social development work, advising firms through internal audit, financial advisory and Skilled Persons Reviews. As a regulatory expert, Gloria has a broad understanding of the financial services' regulatory environment and expectations both in the UK and internationally due to significant experience of working across several jurisdictions including Hong Kong and the United States.
