FWN, in collaboration with Huxley/SThree and ACAMS, invites you to celebrate its 18th Anniversary and International Women’s Day with a panel discussion aiming to give you advice about how you can accelerate, what action you can take, and how can you feel empowered as a woman to make your job into a career in fraud, fincrime and cyber security. The panel discussion will be chaired by Toni Sless, with panellists Paula HancockHead of Cyber Security Risk Management at Computacenter; Priya Giuliani, Specialist in Investigations and Compliance; David CalllingtonHead of Fraud at HSBC Bank UK and Sparsha Hebbur, Head of Strategic Planning at SThree.

Speaker Bios

Paula Hancock: Paula Hancock is the Head of Cyber Security Risk Management at Computacenter. With an early career as an intelligence analyst in the police, she possesses over 15 years of experience in operational intelligence environments. She subsequently joined BT Security, where she spent over a decade providing analytical expertise across various domains including physical security, fraud, and cyber security. Leveraging her extensive knowledge, Paula provided strategic insights into the threat landscape faced by BT, facilitating the enhancement of their intelligence-led security approach. In recognition of her efforts to raise awareness of scams, she received the BT Chairman’s Award in 2016. Additionally, she has presented at CrestCon in 2019 on integrating an intelligence-led approach within organizations.

In 2022, after a distinguished career in threat intelligence, Paula transitioned into risk management. She has successfully designed and implemented a new Cyber Risk Management Framework, which employs a threat-led approach to comprehend and prioritize cyber security risks. Paula has embraced this opportunity to expand her expertise and continues to make significant contributions to the field of security.

Priya GiulianiPriya is a specialist in investigations & compliance with over 25 years experience, including a decade as a Partner. She leads complex regulatory, financial and fraud investigations. Priya has investigated organised, white collar and financial crime on behalf of organisations globally including Regulators, Law Enforcement agencies and financial institutions. She has written reports used for legal proceedings and given evidence in Court on matters she has investigated.

Priya also helps clients on a proactive basis to assess and manage the risk of financial crime including assessing governance & oversight, and training Boards. Her experience as an investigator gives her insight in to how Fraud, Money Laundering and Bribery & Corruption can occur within organisations and the controls required to manage these risks effectively. Priya has been appointed on many Skilled Person engagements and worked with a variety of financial institutions including banks, asset managers and payments companies.

Priya has held a number of leadership positions growing and restructuring businesses. She was a member of the Leadership Team responsible for the strategic people agenda across KPMG and Promontory's UK Advisory businesses.

David Callington With over 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry, David currently has responsibility for fraud across HSBC UK, including First Direct and M&S Bank and is the current Chair of UK Finance’s Strategic Fraud Committee. David has previously held senior fraud roles at Lloyds Banking Group, including Group Fraud Director and Fraud Insight & Analytics Director. In addition to his responsibilities whilst at Lloyds, David sat on the Board of Directors of Financial Fraud Action UK, the industry body that worked collaboratively to protect UK consumers and businesses from fraud and the Home Office led Joint Fraud Taskforce Management Board

Sparsha HebburSparsha, an accomplished strategist with over 15 years of experience in the services industry, currently serves as the Head of Strategic Planning at SThree, a FT250 staffing firm. With a robust background in corporate strategy, financial analysis, and market intelligence, Sparsha leads the company's strategic initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success. 

Sparsha joined SThree in January 2024, bringing a wealth of knowledge from her previous senior roles in leading Fintech and consulting firms. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Corporate Strategy at Acin, where she successfully spearheaded the company through fundraising efforts and the development of a data-driven analytics product in operational risk in the Financial Services Industry. She leverages her strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and practical approach to lead commercial due diligence processes and define growth strategies that align with the CEO's vision and market trends. Sparsha also has extensive experience in M&A and turnaround initiatives, having worked on several deals and strategic projects at Acin and Accenture. She is passionate about providing direction and thought leadership for multiple strategic initiatives and driving strategic change.

Sparsha holds an MBA with distinction from Said Business School, University of Oxford, and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Her academic credentials, combined with her professional expertise, make her a pivotal leader in shaping the future direction of SThree.
