The Eve Appeal

The Fraud Women's Network is very proud to have supported The Eve Appeal since 2007 when we launched and would ordinarily ask The Eve Appeal along to our events so that you can learn about the fabulous work they do in raising awareness of gynaecological cancer and, should the need arise, ask them questions you may have.  However, as you are aware, current circumstances haven't permitted, so we've therefore arranged for Dr Tracie Miles to speak at our lunch and learn session which we do hope you'll join us for.

Cervical cancer is the only one of the five gynaecological cancers to have an effective screening programme and it saves between 4000 – 5000 lives every year, which is why The Eve Appeal strongly encourages women to attend their cervical screening appointments. However, over the last 12 months the cervical screening programme has been affected due to the impacts of Covid-19 and has resulted in women having their appointments delayed.

Now more than ever it is important for women to understand the importance of attending cervical screening as well as understanding what it is and what to expect. In this session with Dr Tracie Miles, you will gain these understandings, receive up to date information on cervical screening in the current climate and can ask any questions you may have about cervical screening, cervical cancer or any gynae heath related questions.

Dr Tracie Miles is a Gynaecological Oncology Specialist Nurse and Genomics Practitioner with over 38 years of experience in the NHS. She sits on the council of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society, is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group Committee and the NICE Specialist Committee as well as an Honorary Lecturer at the West of England University.  Tracie is also the Information Specialist Nurse for the ‘Ask Eve’ service at The Eve Appeal, the leading UK national charity funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers.
